Hornedo Launches Campaign to Stop Trump’s Tyranny, Protect Indy’s Voice
Tuesday, August 26, 2025
Indianapolis, IN — Congressional candidate George Hornedo announced today that his campaign is redirecting its grassroots organizing operation to fight President Trump’s scheme to cheat, as Trump pressures Indiana Republicans to redraw the congressional maps.
“Let’s be very clear: Trump knows he’s losing so he’s trying to rig the game,” Hornedo said. “In just the past two days, he’s openly floated the idea of becoming a dictator. And he’s pressuring Republican politicians here in Indiana to change the rules in the middle of the match. This isn’t about fair maps or unfair maps. It’s about a disgraced President openly cheating to hold on to power.”
Hornedo pointed to Trump pushing Republican governors and legislatures across the country to bend maps to his will and is pressuring Indiana to follow suit.
“Governor Braun and Republican legislators are being told to do Trump’s bidding. If they cave, Indianapolis could lose its voice in Congress altogether,” Hornedo said. “This isn’t normal politics. It’s tyranny in motion and it demands an all-hands response.”
Hornedo emphasized the need for sustained grassroots action.
“Rallies are great, but what we need is sustained grassroots action,” Hornedo said. "That’s why my campaign is putting its full weight—canvassing, phone banking, volunteer energy—into helping neighbors contact their legislators and demand they reject Trump’s cheating. As long as this threat looms, that’s our mission.”
Voters can take action immediately by visiting www.GeorgeHornedo.com to send a direct message to state legislators.
“Some things are bigger than one candidate or one campaign,” Hornedo said. “This is one of them. I may not hold office yet, but I have a responsibility to use this campaign as a vehicle for resistance and defense. I will not sit back while Trump tries to strip Indianapolis—and Democrats across America—of our voice.”
